Product Code Lookup
Validate and convert EAN/UPC/ISBN codes and get product or book data from open databases.
Look up a product barcode number: identify and validate EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC-A, UPC-E, GTIN-14, ISBN-13/10, ISSN and ISMN codes (wrong check digits are reported with the correct digit), convert between forms (GTIN-14, EAN-13, UPC-A, ISBN-10 <-> 13) and decode the GS1 prefix. Then fetch product data from open databases: name, brand, quantity, categories, image, labels, Nutri-Score (food, cosmetics, pet food via Open Food Facts) or title, authors, publisher and cover (books via Open Library).
What agents use it for
- Identify a scanned product: name, brand, quantity, image
- Normalise inventory feeds across UPC, EAN, GTIN-14 and ISBN
- Catch mistyped codes before they reach a catalogue or order
